Vineyards of Monmouthshire: The Others

I believe on my recent trip I covered all four currently active commercial vineyards in Monmouthshire (Parva FarmAncre HillWhite CastleSugar Loaf), but there are a few others which deserve a mention for the sake of completeness.

Monnow Valley (GBVG), near Monmouth, was first established in 1979. This 1.6 hectare site used to sell its still and sparkling wines through Waitrose, but ceased operations some time around 2016. Interestingly there is still stock available, and I was able to buy a bottle of their sparkling wine (made from Seyval Blanc) from Fingal-Rock, the wine shop in Monmouth. It's a 2004 vintage, which is very old by UK wine standards, and selling for the absolute bargain price of £11.50.  I'll be including this in the upcoming Monmouthshire sparkling wine tasting I'm planning, so tasting notes to follow.

Pen-y-Clawdd (originally Wernddu) (GBVG), near Raglan, was established in 2002, but stopped production in around 2013, before being sold to the current owners (Gilbert and Claire Viader) in 2016, who are in the process of re-establishing it.

Upper Bigsweir Vineyard (GBVG) - this is a small site (0.5 hectares) and looking at their Facebook page it seems they're in the process of establishing.

Offa's Vineyard at Llanfihangel ystern Llewern. I found one or two passing mentions to this on the web, but couldn't find much detail, and they don't seem to be listed on GBVG.
